About the Team

The Strategic Partnerships team, part of the Strategic Partnerships and Runner Products Department, is responsible for generating and garnering corporate revenue, value and promotion for NYRR in exchange for marketing and advertising benefits to its partners. The team seeks to match the needs of NYRR with that of partners’ and their various objectives.  NYRR’s needs include monetary investments, as well as value-in-kind products and services, which help to reduce NYRR’s expenses, and partner marketing/promotional support, which helps to build the NYRR brand and expand the audience.  In addition to bringing in revenue, the team ensures that NYRR delivers on its obligations to its partners.  The partner portfolio is comprised of more than 20 brands including TCS, New Balance, United Airlines, Gatorade Endurance and Michelob Ultra.

 

About the Position

 

The Strategic Partnerships Assistant Manager will be an integral member of the team, and assists in all day-to-day operations of the department including executing partner deliverables, trafficking creative, processing invoices and managing timelinesKey functions of this role are managing up and leading integrated projects with limited supervision.  The position requires organization, attention to detail, and collaboration across all departments of NYRR. The position also requires some work on evenings and weekends, to supervise partner-sponsored programs at the NYRR RunCenter featuring the New Balance RunHub and NYRR races. 

 

 

Job Responsibilities (primary and secondary duties):

  • Manage relationships with licensee partners and vendors
  • Help to oversee the development and marketing of quality product
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of NYRR cross-functional teams
  • Ensure product development is within contractual rights.
  • Develop and maintain files for all product submissions
  • Inventory creative assets currently with licensees and distribute creative assets as applicable and on an ongoing basis
  • Gather and maintain information for the creation of product development schedules including key milestones in process
  • Write and track POs until they are delivered to their end destination
  • Lead maintenance of product records and sample stockroom and inventory for all licensees, including archiving of samples. Includes interfacing with licensee on current sample requirements.
  • Assist on multiple projects as they become available, prioritizing projects across multiple categories
  • Supports team in the following:
    • Assist in requesting, collecting and organizing line sheets, sell-in & sell-thru data, retail updates, marketing & merchandising plans, etc.
    • Coordinate business reviews, line reviews and product development meetings with licensees and NYRR on a regular basis, and manage action items
    • Assist in researching potential new partners
    • Stay apprised of competitive and marketplace trends via various means
    • Create decks, one-sheets and pitches for various internal and external meetings
    • Meeting coordination and other administrative functions

 

  • Communicate project updates and escalate challenges to both the partner and senior management in a timely manner
  • Manage budget tracking and process invoices
  • Learn the breadth and depth of NYRR to ensure all projects leverage all resources to achieve both partner and NYRR objectives

Experience:

  • 2 – 3 years in apparel/accessories and or related licensing management experience
  • Understanding of the components of commodity business based on sales and gross margin profitability as well as manufacturing process and development
  • Project ownership

 

Education:

  • Four-year degree in related field
