About the Position

The Program Growth Strategist will work with the Strategy & Planning team and Youth and Community & Services team to develop the plan and operating model for significantly scaling the reach of our flagship youth running program, Rising New York Road Runners, within the next 12 months and specifically to design the evolution of program as needed.  This strategist will work cross-functionally across the organization to ensure strategic alignment to our long-term organization goals, optimize impact opportunities, and manage implementation feasibility.  Ultimately the innovations and deliverables formulated from this key role will enable NYRR to continue to reach our overall strategic objectives.

 Job Responsibilities: 

  • Architect the framework of requirements, growth strategies and outcomes related to Rising New York Road Runners, in support of long-term strategic targets
  • Design program plans, including associated marketing, structural and financial implications
  • Incorporate performance/impact analytics and metrics into programmatic planning
  • Test and pilot hypotheses as appropriate and ensure efficient speed to “market”
  • Serve as product management subject matter expert for the organization and instill knowledge and best practices
  • Effectively and efficiently plan and prioritize all deliverables and resources working across the organization; Work with project team to develop detailed project work plans
  • Manage day-to-day activities and timelines of the project team and ensure work is progressing as planned
  • Actively monitor project risks and scope creep to identify potential problems; and proactively identify solutions to address these issues
  • Communicate and document project status and strategic recommendations; escalate issues accordingly via the appropriate channels
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure all plans integrate seamlessly into the overall organization goals

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years strategy and/or program management experience required, either as in-house strategy or program leader, or consultative role in a management consultancy or investment bank 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA’s encouraged
