  3. The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the payroll process of India, which includes collecting/providing payroll data, processing payroll through payroll software, reviewing payroll reports, disbursement of payroll, taking care of payroll compliances, and month-end activities.

Your Role 
  1. Prepare and maintain the monthly payroll/compliance calendar.
  2. Ensure all payroll data is collected from internal departments, organized, and processed in the payroll system in a timely manner.
  3. Review payroll output reports ensuring data is processed correctly.
  4. Prepare reporting, analyze fluctuations, and provide explanations.
  5. Handle payroll funding and/or payment to employees and authorities.
  6. Prepare payroll journals and record them in the general ledger.
  7. Maintenance of payroll records.
  8. Month end close activities such as reconciling payroll accounts, preparing accruals for vacation days, gratuity, et.al, preparing month end close schedules, et.al.
  9. Taking care of the payroll compliances pertaining to remittance of contributions and filing of returns, as applicable. For E.g., Provident Fund, Professional tax, labour welfare fund, Income tax for India.
  10. Familiarize yourself and keep current with the taxation of salaries, benefits, and other factors.
  11. Ensuring the deadlines are met which are set in the payroll/compliance calendar. 
  12. Act as contact point for HR department and employees for payroll queries 
  13. Provide back up support and engage in solutions to employee’s queries to ensure user satisfaction and productivity. Works directly with employees to address complaints, requests and other matters relating to payroll.
  14. Work with the audit agencies (government, external and internal) in providing the payroll information and to assist with all required audits. This includes providing copies of payroll statements, tax statements, regulatory payments/filings, et.al, as required and answering/clarifying auditors' queries.
  15. Continuously involved in process improvements and automation of tasks in all assigned areas of responsibility. Provide back up support, as needed.
  16. Other duties as assigned, including ad hoc report request, project work, supporting the accounting team on ad hoc projects and/or daily tasks. Must be able to answer all questions pertaining to job responsibilities.
  17. Must be able to work with Executives or their delegates to support them with any payroll queries/issues. Questions must be handled with diplomacy, friendliness, accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.
  18. The position will work closely with the Accounting, HR, Compensation & Benefits, Stock admin, Tax and senior members of headquarters and international locations, including managing third party relations.

 

What You Will Bring 
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in accounting.
  2. Minimum of 7-8 years’ experience in payroll processing.
  3. Experience in India payroll and payroll compliances is mandatory.
  4. General ledger accounting experience is preferred.
  5. International payroll experience is an added advantage.
  6. Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  7. Team player and collaborate with various teams to achieve the objectives.
  8. Expert knowledge of the latest amendments and the required laws
  9. Familiarity in the recent trend and upgrading in a timely manner.
  10. Working knowledge of GreytHR payroll software, Net Suite, and tax/wage laws.
  11. This position requires knowledge and experience in General Accounting to handle the daily activities and provide employee support.
  12. Well versed with MS Office applications and Excel expertise
  13. Experience in working for an international business environment.
  14. Must have the ability to adhere to deadlines.
  15. Strong communicator and team player
  16. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  17. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving, and demanding environment.
