This position will primarily work in Global Indirect tax and Tax engine implementations.

 

  • Review all domestic monthly, quarterly and annual sales & use taxes, Franchise, gross receipts and other non-income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions. Returns will be prepared by third party.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the Avalara sales tax engine and Cert capture integration with NetSuite. Company primarily does business via Distributors/resellers.
  • Maintain Tax resale certificates in Avalara/Tax engine and OneSource.
  • Partner with business functions such as AP, Order Management, R&D, Marketing and other departments to address use tax on purchases.
  • Review Canada GST return and monthly GL account reconciliation.
  • Assist in Global multi product Tax engine migration from Avalara to OneSource.
  • Provide indirect tax support on transactions and Tax engine related projects. Support launch of new products and automation.
  • Prepare month end account reconciliation of various tax related GL accounts.
  • Assist with US and Foreign tax audits, tax inquiries and tax notices.
  • Develop, maintain or continually improve data collection process for preparation of tax returns.
  • Research analyze statutory and regulatory law changes in global indirect tax and prepare technical memos as assigned.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • 6 to 8 years of indirect tax experience with a fast growing company or public accounting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Finance. 
  • Excellent technical knowledge of U.S. Sales and Use tax legislation
  • Experience with indirect taxes in Canada/EMEA/APAC is helpful
  • Experience in Cloud, datacenters, software areas are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of indirect tax engine – Sabrix/OneSource/Avalara.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with demonstrated understanding of complex tax concepts.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities, upbeat demeanor and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
