The Opportunity
Are you a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in building & scaling distributed systems, eager to take on a significant technical leadership role? If so, join the Nutanix Cloud Manager team and play a key part in shaping the next generation NCM platform and observability capabilities, accelerating customers' cloud journey through simplified multi-cloud observability & governance.
About the Team
This role will be part of the Nutanix Cloud Manager team, based in San Jose. The team is geographically distributed across San Jose and India. And, the team is focussed on building an enterprise grade data platform and delivering exceptional multi cloud observability solutions to Nutanix’s customers. You will report to the Senior Director, who values strategic thinking, collaboration, and technical leadership. The manager encourages open communication, fostering a culture where team members feel empowered to influence decisions and contribute to the project’s success.
As part of our hybrid work setup, you will be required to work in the office three days a week, allowing for a balance between in-person collaboration and remote work flexibility to cater to individual preferences and needs.
There are no travel requirements for this position, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality work and contributing effectively to the team's success without the added stress of frequent travel. Your Role
- Lead technical direction, architecture, and design for NCM observability and platform capabilities
- Architect, design, and develop scalable, cloud native distributed systems
- Engage in design/code reviews and define development & test best practices
- Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence
- Build innovative solutions that cater to customer needs
- Collaborate with architects, tech leads, and product managers to drive clarity on goals and outcomes
- Manage priorities, deliverables, and timelines
- Work in a geographically distributed team setup
What You Will Bring
- Extensive experience in building & scaling distributed systems
- Strong programming skills in GoLang, Python, Java or C++
- Experience architecting and building observability platforms
- Data modeling and working with time series, graph, and relational databases
- Experience with messaging/eventing systems like NATS, Kafka
- Understanding of Kubernetes and containers
- Experience with microservices and data processing frameworks
- "Think big, start small, make it happen" mindset
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 225,600 and USD $ 451,200 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
