Job Description

The Environmental Compliance Manager will be responsible to ensure that Nutanix’s products comply with various Environmental requirements in jurisdictions where Nutanix conducts business

Requires solid understanding of world wide environmental compliance regulations affecting electronic products (RoHS, WEEE, REACH, Packaging and Battery Directives) and Conflict Minerals legislation.

In this position you will:

  • Ensure that Nutanix products meets or exceeds requirements to comply with various environmental regulations (RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, WEEE, etc.) relating to the design, manufacture, packaging, use and end-of-life disposal on a global basis.
  • Keep up to date on changing WW environmental regulations in jurisdictions where Nutanix conducts business. Proactively notify management of any developments in environmental regulations that may pose risks to product shipments.
  • Participate in external business associations and government forums on environmental regulatory matters as needed.
  • Ensure that Nutanix is registered with local environmental regulatory authorities as required and ensure all necessary filings and fees related to packaging, material content, end-of-life, etc. are paid in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure the development of sound, documented business practices to ensure that all necessary environmental data are routinely obtained from supply sources and entered into appropriate and documented enterprise databases.
  • Work closely with product management, engineering and supply chain groups to ensure that new products are compliant.
  • Co-ordinate with logistics for product take-back and recycling activities.
  • Provides staff support and leadership to other initiatives as needed in environmental affairs
  • Prevents compliance issues by collaborating with engineering planning and design teams; identifying and resolving product and engineering issues and identifying applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards


  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of work experience or Master’s Degree with 3+ years of work experience.
  • Experience with electronics products manufacturing
  • Familiar with European RoHS, REACH, WEEE, Conflict Minerals, Battery and Packaging directives
  • Prior project management experience a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, teamwork and analytic skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to work across organizational lines to get work done.
  • Ability to multitask, coordination and to work independently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally as required.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with electronic documentation systems and document control processes for high tech companies (PLM / PDM system)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general ability to use new platforms
