Integral to the Nutanix software stack is the Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV). AHV is an enterprise-grade hypervisor tailor-made for Nutanix's software solution and has reliability, performance and scalability characteristics proven to be capable of meeting the demands of the toughest enterprise and private cloud workloads. AHV is built from open-source technologies including KVM, qemu, Open vSwitch and libvirt.

The AHV engineering team are seeking talented software QA engineers who will take on functional, regression, system test planning and automation on AHV hypervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop functional and regression tests for the AHV hypervisor
  • Implement and enhance automation framework to test and certify support for a growing list of of Guest OS (operating systems) on AHV
  • Implement and enhance framework to validate ISV virtual-appliances on AHV
  • Maintain and fix test automation issues
  • Constantly push towards making AHV components highly reliable, performant and secure.
  • Be passionate about the overall quality of AHV and strive to come up with detailed test plans to assess the stability and integrity of the product.
  • Design high level test approaches and implementing detailed test plans.
  • Write new automated test cases for existing and new features.
  • Work closely with the AHV development team to analyze and find root cause of failures.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in test plan design and test case development for complex software projects.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an SDET role
  • Coding experience with automated testing frameworks, tools, services, and physical devices
  • Strong systems administration experience in UNIX, preferably Linux.
  • Experience using virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, or Xen.
  • Experience developing automated tests in Python and Shell scripts
  • Extensive knowledge of UNIX/Linux
  • Working knowledge of C programming language preferable
  • Familiarity with OS internals, concepts of distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with x86 architecture, virtualization and/or storage and network management, specifically, experience in testing such systems.
  • Familiarity with KVM and QEMU preferred.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS or MS (preferred) in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3-7 years of industry experience or equivalent research experience
  • Experience in testing clustered/distributed systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in test framework design and development
  • Experience using and administering projects in a continuous integration. framework such as Jenkins/Hudson.
