JD Edwards CNC Administrator IV
Maintain and support of the Associated Universities, Inc. (AUI)./National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) business software, Oracle J.D. Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE E1) 9.x and related support software.  MIS Lead for all Configurable Network Computer (CNC) related areas and tasks.  Follows general audit and best practices for all JDE E1 CNC aspects and administration.  Some MIS Help Desk support/logging.  Support of 3rd party software utilized by MIS in support of JDE E1.  Other MIS duties as assigned.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Electronic Software Update (ESU) installation and promotion.
  • Tools release upgrades.
  • JDE Application Software Updates (AS) and application upgrades installations and promotion.
  • Development and CNC administrative workstation installation and maintenance.
  • WebLogic Server(s) installation and maintenance for html, SSL, AIS (Orchestrator) and other JDE web services.
  • Monitor Oracle security alerts and apply patches as needed.
  • Independent investigation and resolution of JDE CNC related items/issues.
  • Code modification and enhancement promotions through full life cycle development process.
  • Package builds, promotions and deployments.
  • Vertex tax software installation, upgrades and maintenance.
  • Monitoring of MIS systems for performance and reliability.
  • Work with other company computing divisions to ensure that hardware procurements meet the needs of the JDE E1 platform.
  • MS SQL database administration.
  • Maintain MIS/JDE Disaster Recovery plan and procedures including documentation and Double Take server replication.
  • Assists/investigates/recommends JDE and Database Security related items
  • Development of Documentation (written) for aspects of duties and supporting MIS documentation strategy
  • Off-hour installations, implementations, and testing of JDE and Database systems.
  • Support, as needed in the CNC capacity, 3rd party software utilized by MIS in support of JDE E1
  • Advises and provides recommendations to MIS manager on CNC related areas.
  • Maintain, and support the Associated Universities, Inc. (AUI) and its holdings (NRAO, GBO, LBO) business software, Oracle JDE  

   EnterpriseOne as assigned.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:  Extensive JDE CNC knowledge and experience working in/with Oracle J.D.Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.x.  Experience with MS SQL database and/or knowledge required.  Proficient with Microsoft Office products.  Positive interpersonal and communications skills are required.

 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience and a minimum of five years experience, supporting, troubleshooting, and resolving user issues for comparable business software. 

 

Experience:  Extensive knowledge of JDE CNC related subjects. Experience in MS SQL database.  Experience in JDE and database security and general system knowledge. Experience with Data Access Studio (DAS) desired. The ability to work independently, conduct independently, conduct independent research, problem solving, goal setting and team collaboration are essential.  Ability to write documentation for aspects of duties.

Physical Conditions/Nature of Work:  Work is typically performed in a research or development environment.   This position will perform off-hours (non-business hours/weekend) installations, applications and testing, as needed.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits at a desk, uses a personal computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment; the ability to climb stairs is required.  The employee is required to bend, reach, and must have finger dexterity.  The employee is required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. May rarely work at high altitudes.  Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  Occasional domestic and foreign travel is required.
