Northwest Center Kids in Downtown Seattle is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to work in our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms Part Time.  We are an inclusive center and welcome children of all abilities. We are looking for Assistants who are professional, responsible, and who believe in a child-centered philosophy of how children learn and grow.  A desire and willingness to learn more about the field of Early Childhood Education is important.

Location: Downtown Seattle

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM (25 hrs)

Wage: $17.00 plus excellent benefits and opportunities for advancement

Assistant Teachers will support the Lead Teachers and will work as a team to develop and implement positive, nurturing, and stimulating programs suited for the developmental needs of the children.  Duties include working in cooperation and following the direction of Lead Teachers, implementing activities as designated by Lead Teachers, nurturing positive relationships with the children, following assigned schedule to ensure smooth transitions and staff breaks, maintaining confidentiality,  and nurturing supportive relationships with families.  Classroom Assistants must be willing to perform other job-related duties as assigned.   • High School diploma
  • STARS certification within 6 months of hire, and completion of CPR and First Aid certification within one month of hire
