Follow Along Employment Specialist
Northwest Center is looking for an Employment Support Specialist to join our specialized Follow Along team. In this position, you can make a difference in someone’s life!
Location: Based out of Seattle and Renton, traveling in King County
Schedule: Monday through Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm, but schedule can flex depending on caseload
Wage: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour DOE
We are looking for an Employment Specialist to provide on-the-job support and training for independent adults with disabilities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing personal service plans which includes planning appropriate training, supervision, and support services. You will also consult with employers to help them create accommodations and restructure job duties as needed. You will be the point of contact for employers, case managers, clients, and their support networks. In this role you will help people reach their full potential in their respective careers! - Some college course work in the areas of vocational rehabilitation, psychology, and/or sociology preferred
- Valid WA State Driver's license
- Acceptable 5-year driving abstract
- Experience working in teams
- One year working with people with disabilities preferred but not necessary
What will you be doing in this role?
You will work with independent adults with disabilities who receive occasional on-the-job support and help them achieve their full potential. You will also consult with and train their employers, which can range from grocery stores to law firms, on how to provide natural supports and to create accommodations or adjustments to help all their employees thrive.
