Who we are:

Northwest Center was founded in 1965 by parents who refused to institutionalize their children with developmental disabilities or accept the prevailing notion that their children couldn't be taught. Our founders authored and won approval of civil rights legislation that opened the doors of Washington State schools to children with disabilities. Banding together to form Northwest Center, they hired their own teachers to develop education programs targeted to special needs children. From birth through retirement, Northwest Center serves people of all abilities in a multitude of ways

We are a leader in advancing equal opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Our services for children include early intervention therapy, inclusive early learning, and after school programs.

We are seeking a knowledgeable Curriculum Specialist to join our Early Learning Team. The Curriculum Specialist will work collaboratively with our team of dedicated teaching and administrative staff to successfully implement Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold in our infant, toddler and pre-k classrooms. A successful candidate will use strengths-based coaching strategies and serve as a mentor to the teaching staff. We strongly support and encourage professional development and want our staff to reach their full potential. You’ll work alongside a team of passionate professionals, while having opportunities to share knowledge and achieve professional growth. A successful candidate works cooperatively with staff, families, and community partners.
