Position:  Sourcing Specialist, Talent Acquisition 

Location: Renton/Seattle/Surrounding Area

Position Summary:

Northwest Center (NWC) has an opening for a Sourcing Specialist based out of our Renton & Seattle, WA locations. The Sourcing Specialist must thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment, connect and network with community and partners to grow a qualified talent pool, and work as a team member of NWC’s Talent Acquisition Team. The sourcing and performed will be supporting our Administrative Support team which is located in the South Lake Union area.

The staffing in this area consists of administrative personnel as well occasional facilities positions and can vary from time to time. The volume of sourcing/recruiting in this area is high and requires a constant pipeline of qualified candidates averaging over 200 - 380 hires per year and multiple hires per week. This position must draw on extensive knowledge of Networking, Talent Acquisition Sourcing and functional areas of the business, forging dynamic relationships with business leaders, hiring managers and HR business partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Team to build effective sourcing, assessment, and employment marketing/branding with an ability to attract top talent through a deep understanding of operations.
  • Build and maintain network of potential candidates through pro-active market research, sourcing, attending events (such as job fairs), and continued on-going relationship management out in the community.
  • Utilizing NWC’s best practices for hiring inclusively.
  • Recommend ideas and strategies related to sourcing and recruitment that will contribute to the long-range growth, implementing any new processes and fine tuning standard processes for recruiting that fits within business operation needs to deliver the highest quality candidate referrals to the customer.
  • Articulate in writing a plan with deliverables, timelines and a formal tracking process.
  • Interview candidates within the framework of the position specification. Possess strong ability to screen, interview and prepare a candidate slate within an appropriate and consistent timeline.
  • Participate in special projects/recruiting initiatives, including assessment of best practices in interviewing techniques, leveraging of internal sources of talent and identification of top performers.
  • Manage all recruitment-related vendors to ensure pricing, cycle time and manager expectations are being met; negotiate contract terms, vendors.

Other Job Functions:

  • Serves as back-up Talent Acquisition Specialist if needed, and may provide full-cycle recruiting support.

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of progressive sourcing and full life cycle recruiting 
  • Experience building and utilizing a variety of sourcing plans and tools, including proactive research with community and professional outreach.
  • ATS experience with sourcing, tracking and managing candidates.
  • MS Office - including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong consulting skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as a team leader and member.
  • Ability to travel short distances within in the PNW.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects and client relationships.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be punctual 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary degree.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong client focus and commitment to continuous improvement; ability to proactively network and establish effective working relationships, must pursue conscious cost-containment efforts in recruiting, continually seek new sourcing options, and develop creative approaches to delivering candidates to the customer.
  • Strong communication skills, organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to execute sourcing/recruiting strategy, including employer promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and interview process management.
  • Possess strong analytic skills with ability to create, measure, and scale the right workflow between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruiting team.
  • Create and maintain strategic recruiting plans with clearly defined objectives, desired outcomes, and a calendar of events.
  • Project management experience, command of project scheduling, milestones and deliverable.

Physical requirements of the position

  • Ability to sit and stand for at least 8 hrs per day
  • Frequent use of hands/fingers for typing, grasping or handling a variety of objects
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs frequently, 25 lbs on occasion
  • Frequent walking within building and outside building
  • Frequent amount talking/hearing; both in person and over the telephone
