We are currently seeking a Director of Finance and Accounting at our Headquarter office in Seattle, WA.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic and challenging environment with diverse clients and assignments.  The Director of Finance and Accounting will lead our accounting group at Northwest Center and will report to our Chief Financial Officer. 

The Director of Finance and Accounting will oversee all financial affairs of the organization in partnership with the Director of Finance & Budgeting.  Responsibility includes oversight of the preparation of interim and annual audited financial statements, financial analyses of operations, preparation of various state and federal tax returns, maintaining internal and external relationship with auditors, and peers and other management personnel within the organization.

We are looking for someone who is skilled at developing and maintaining solid relationships with our management team and someone who brings best practices to our accounting department.

Additional tasks include:

  • Responsible for development and oversight of the company’s financial plans and policies, its system of internal controls, the maintenance of its fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company's values.
  • Leads continuous improvement of reporting and processes for operating businesses by partnering with operations managers.
  • Directly responsible for accounting staff and all activities involved with accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, tax and audit.
  • Cash management of daily operating accounts and review of investment accounts.
  • Preparation and documentation of state, local and federal tax returns. Works with auditors to ensure company is in compliance with tax codes, assure accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
  • Consolidation of multi-divisional financial statements for diverse lines of business in accordance with latest GAAP guidance.
  • Prepares monthly financial reporting package including performance summary for management and board of directors.
  • Tracking and reporting operating metrics on divisional business operations.
  • Report writing in MS Dynamics/FRX.
  • Designing process improvements to improve efficiency(s) and reduce costs.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Work with CFO as requested on a timely basis to facilitate NWC financial needs.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and MBA or CPA and direct experience with MS Dynamics/Great Plains financial reporting software.  Previous systems implementation/conversion experience would be a plus. 10+ years of hands-on progressive accounting/managerial experience with direct experience at a Director of Finance/Controller level position.  This candidate must be able to work effectively with our diverse operations team, foster positive and cooperative relationships within and outside the organization.
