Northwest Center is looking for a Recruiter-Trainer, Diversity & Inclusion to join our team! The successful candidate will have the opportunity to thrive in an innovative, fast-paced and collaborative work environment. This position will support a program of work on diversity & inclusion hiring for our corporate client, and may travel domestically 20-30% of the time.

Northwest Center is working to deliver inclusive solutions to help embed disability hiring into businesses across our clients’ organizations. The Recruiter-Trainer, along with our current Outreach Manager, will be responsible for recruiting diverse talent to fill job positions in the greater Puget Sound area on behalf of our corporate client. This position will also lead on designing a strategy to increase the scope, scale and diversity of NWC’s local applicant pool. As the Recruiter-Trainer, the position will also involve training and coaching third party organizations on the recruitment strategies developed on the NWC Connect team.

The ideal candidate is someone who excels at building and managing relationships with key stakeholders, including potential candidates, business leaders, and third sector providers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about recruiting diverse talent and expanding employment opportunities for people with disabilities. As a Recruiter-Trainer, they will also possess the skills to effectively train and coach and support our partners in organizations across the US. This is a highly visible, externally-facing position representing NWC to multiple stakeholders in business, government and non-profit sectors.

This position will require a high degree of flexibility and comfort in ambiguity. The position will be based in flexible work spaces including working remotely; it may include 20-30% domestic travel and the remaining time will be based at office and warehouse sites around King County.

 

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruit candidates using Applicant Tracking System software, conduct phone screens and in-person interviews.
  • Proactivity identify opportunities to expand scope, scale and diversity of local Puget Sound supply chain of candidates, and conduct outreach activities in support of supply chain goals.
  • Train, coach and advise partner organizations on the NWC Model of Inclusive Employment, in order to deliver disability hiring initiatives in communities across the country.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly performance monitoring and reporting to NWC, business partners and foundations supporting our work.
  • Proactively build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders in the private, non-profit and government sectors.
  • Deliver presentations and communications to a variety of audiences regarding inclusive employment, and represent Northwest Center well in the community.
  • Manage multiple customers’ expectations through a deep understanding of our clients hiring processes and operations, and best practice strategies in recruiting and supply chain
  • Monitor systems and analyze metrics that assess the overall effectiveness of diversity and inclusion activities
  • Cross-train to provide back-up support to disability hiring program in Seattle area

Requirements:

 

  • 3-5 years’ recruiting, staffing or supply chain management experience
  • Comfort and familiarity working with Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Experience delivering in-person trainings or presentations to a wide audience
  • Experience leading major diversity, inclusion or equity initiatives strongly preferred, including successful implementation of programs with measurable results
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate metrics, research, and trends into strategy
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships with clients, partners, and people from various backgrounds and cultures.
  • Team player with excellent communications skills, high tolerance for ambiguity and a rapidly changing environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent post-secondary degree required
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Valid WA State Driver’s license and car insurance
  • Acceptable 5 year driving record
  • Own vehicle for transportation
