Director, Aftermarket Parts

Position Summary: 

We are seeking a Director of Aftermarket Parts to lead the parts operations for Nortek Air Solution’s Air Handling business.  This position will develop and implement new strategies to re-imagine aftermarket parts business via the go-to-market approach and further strengthen Nortek’s lifecycle value to the customer specific to Aftermarket Parts.  You will ensure that aftermarket parts organization is performing against business expectations, forecasts, and customer requirements.  Responsible for small staff and directing day-to-day operations.  Key drivers to customer satisfaction (KPI) around quote to order and increasing quote to order percentage to Nortek.

Position Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will be responsible for strategic leadership including aftermarket positioning and pricing, business forecasting, product vision and ecommerce strategy and growth.
  • Partner with product development, digital, engineering, sales and other functions to launch unique digitally enabled solution and service offerings.
  • This role requires a proven track record in aftermarket parts and service delivery models.
  • Manage and motivate parts sales team members through development of metrics and incentive programs.
  • Develop pricing models for aftermarket parts.
  • Develop and enhance inventory models while partnering with key suppliers for purchased finished components.
  • Define positioning strategies and development roadmaps including value proposition (TCO) definition and communication.
  • Responsible for the coordination and leadership required implementing a product idea through to product release.
  • Responsible for detailed business requirements including ability to identify impacts across internal and external systems and the definition of use case design.
  • Pricing of first fit products and support for aftermarket pricing
  • Define detailed business requirements, use cases, and product specifications for both new products and enhancements to existing products.
  • Provide sales and marketing support for existing and future products and services to both internal and external audiences.
  • Communicate with internal support and sales teams to educate, gather customer feedback and resolve product issues.
  • Supports “Lean Business Enterprise” initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.
  • Some travel (approximately 15-20%) required for client visits, conferences, trade shows, etc.

 

 Required and Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years’ experience with proven success leading aftermarket parts and service delivery teams.
  • Experience and understanding of web services, ecommerce platforms, mobile portfolio roadmaps, and online product marketing.
  • Prior experience developing and implementing product plans/detailed requirements/implementation plans and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) value proposition.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with a high level of ownership, self-motivation, and initiative.
  • Strong technical aptitude to interface with development, quality assurance, and certification areas within ESG as well as external vendors.
  • Strong execution skills with superior analytical, planning and project management experience.
  • Proven ability to service and support a range of internal and external customers, while maintaining client/stakeholder confidentiality, often in parallel and within a shifting set of priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal/presentation communication skills with ability to write detailed analytical and comprehensive product and project requirements.
  • Ability to conduct and evaluate market research.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively and successfully interact with all functions and levels both internally and externally.
