II. 2018-19 Leadership Chicago, Illinois

Description

Be Noble. Be a Social Worker at Golder College Prep.

Golder College Prep opened its doors on August 20, 2007 to a freshman class of 155 students. Today, we have 645 students in grades 9th through 12th. In 2011, 100% of our first graduating seniors were accepted to four-year universities. Coupled with choices in electives and sports teams, GCP students have the option to take part in unique enrichment classes such as Health and Workout classes, Italian, Yoga, Chicago food and history, documentary films, Rock back, Piano, Guitar, Tae Kwon Do and Modern dance.

Noble believes that all students have the right to an excellent education; our social workers are crucial in ensuring all of our diverse learners have success in academics and in life. Social workers provide support for our students and act as guides in their social, emotional, and mental health. Noble social workers identify those students who need extra support, advocate and develop improvement plans, research and refer students to community resources, and work with/liaise with the students’ teacher, administration, and family.
