POSITION SUMMARY
Educators assigned to the position will perform as a teacher leader and content area specialist who facilitates academic and positive behavioral professional development related to the school and district’s instruction, curriculum and behavioral goals. The coach will work with individuals and teams of teachers on goals aligned with demonstrated instructional/professional needs.

As a leader and specialist, the employee works with administrators, coaches, teachers and support staff in identifying, developing, and implementing curriculum and assessment, preventative and proactive behavioral practices, and research based instructional strategies designed to improve student learning. As an instructional coach, the employee may work in a variety of elementary and/or secondary educational, individual or team teaching settings. Instructional coaches share in the responsibility for student safety and appropriate collaboration and attention to each student’s readiness to learn including needed guidance, preventative and proactive behavioral strategies, and welfare.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (Minimum Qualifications)
~ Bachelor's Degree.
~ Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience.
~ Demonstrated record of effectiveness in the classroom.
~ Experience with Professional Learning Communities.
~ Experience serving as a teacher leader.
~ Have standards of moral character as required of all Oregon licensed educators (OAR 584-005-0005).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
~ Masters Degree.
~ Experience with Professional Learning Communities and RTI.
~ Experience with ENVoY and/or PBIS Behavior Support Programs.
~ Bilingual Spanish.
~ Two years of instructional coaching experience.
~ Experience with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies.
~ Experience with literacy and mathematics best practices.
~ Experience with Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) practices.

COMPENSATION
~ Salary: $40,652 - $79,799 (Precise 2021-2022 Salary Schedule TBD)

~ JCSD 509-J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
