Job Title: Digital Producer

New York Public Radio is looking for a Digital Producer to help shape and grow the online presence of our national shows and podcasts — including Radiolab, On the Media and The New Yorker Radio Hour — as well as WQXR, New York City’s classical music station. You’ll also support other digital storytelling efforts across the organization. 
  
This producer will be part of WNYC and Gothamist’s Digital News and Audience team. You’ll collaborate closely with teammates who specialize in digital strategy and engagement to expand our reach and strengthen our connection with audiences across platforms. 
  
This role reports to the Director of Digital News and Audience. 
  
Responsibilities:  
  
  • Partner with the teams behind various New York Public Radio shows and brands to manage and refine social media accounts  
  • Create compelling digital content — including social posts, videos, web copy and newsletters — that translates audio stories into compelling digital content. 
  • Support YouTube publishing and visual branding across channels. 
  • Assist with video podcasting and live event coverage. 
  • Collaborate with hosts, producers and editors to ensure content reflects each property’s voice and vision. 
  • Build and engage online communities around New York Public Radio content, shows and talent. 
  • Plan and maintain social content and publishing calendars for assigned brands. 
  • Track performance and use audience insights to help refine strategy. 
  • Partner with marketing, design and audience teams on campaigns that grow reach and deepen engagement. 
  • Stay ahead of platform trends and emerging digital storytelling tools. 
  
  
Qualifications:  
  
We’re looking for a creative, collaborative digital content producer who approaches storytelling with curiosity, an inclusive lens and a commitment to reflecting and serving the diversity of our audiences. If you meet many — but not all — of the qualifications below, we still want to hear from you. 
  
  • A love for connecting diverse audiences with stories and ideas that matter to their communities. 
  • A commitment to experimentation and innovation in digital storytelling. 
  • At least three years of experience creating digital content, managing social media or engaging audiences for a media or cultural brand. 
  • Excellent writing skills and a track record of turning audio stories into strong visual or written content for social, web or newsletters. 
  • Deep commitment to accurate, ethical storytelling, and demonstration of impeccable integrity and judgment. 
  • Comfort using analytics and audience insights to guide content decisions. 
  • Experience with and enthusiasm for collaborating with hosts, producers, editors and designers.  
  • Familiarity with content management systems, social and video tools and basic video editing. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Curiosity about podcasts, audio storytelling and public media. 
  • Knowledge of or interest in classical music, arts or culture. 
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays 
  
  
Additional Information: 
  
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $46.82 (annualized at $85,214.65 for a 35-hour week). The role operates in a hybrid capacity, spending two days a week in the office.
