Sr. Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the overall accounting operations of the company. Partnering closely with our Director of Accounting and Assistant Controller, this individual will be responsible for working to effectively execute accounting operations, as well as accounting related and multidimensional projects as requested. Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Support month-end, quarter-end & year-end close processes, including, but not limited to ledger consolidation, financial statement preparation & variance commentary
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts
  • Ensure strict adherence to all compliance and regulatory filings
  • Assist with the preparation of schedules for internal and external audits
  • Approve entries and supporting documentation by staff accountants
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
  • Provide technical support and advice on management requests
  • Carryout, implement, and test internal SOX controls
  • Review and enhance accounting processes and general ledger capabilities
  • Create or maintain documented policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Ad hoc projects as requested by senior management


  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • Inventory experience or CPG preferred. 
  • 5+ years of general accounting experience
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Process improvement driven
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMPRODUCT functions, pivot tables)
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Oracle applications, Smartview, Essbase
  • Experience with Sales & Use, Tax filings and/or SOX a plus
