Description

The Patient Access Manager oversees and provides leadership to Patient Access Supervisor, Team Leads and Financial Coordinator from multiple departments. Oversees and manages the daily operations of the scheduling call center including but not limited to demographical and insurance data collection, outpatient diagnostic scheduling, clinic referrals, precertification, pre-registration, registration, financial clearance, payment collections, and PBX for hospital and clinical services.

The Patient Access Manager ensures teams maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Establishes and maintains positive business relationships to ensure effective and efficient coordination of services to promote department goals and objectives. Always promotes exceptional patient experiences by demonstrating a high quality and professional level of service and educating staff to achieve hospital standards.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to, day to day operational oversight of scheduling, patient access, supervision of personnel, evaluating staffing levels and time off requests, conducting performance reviews, conflict resolution, scheduling, monitoring productivity levels, quality and process improvement, managing clinic efficiency, and working closely with the medical director(s) on program planning, development and implementation.

Education:

  • High School Diploma Required
  • PREFERRED
    Bachelor’s degree in business related field preferred

 

Certification & Licensures: Healthcare Certification (AAHAM CRCS, HFMA CRCR, NAHAM CHAA or CHAM) preferred

Experience:

  • 2 Years Managerial Experience (Required)
  • 4 years of Patient Access operations activities (scheduling/registration/insurance) or related experience (billing, collections, accounts receivables)
  • Previous experience with medical terminology, basic ICD 10 and CPT coding, healthcare program reimbursement and methodologies
  • Previous experience in scheduling, registration, insurance (including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party regulations), billing, collections, and customer service in either a hospital or physician’s office setting preferred
