Description

The Float Medical Receptionist is a flexible and efficient administrative professional responsible for managing front desk operations across various specialty and primary care departments within the clinic. The Float Medical Receptionist will support different areas based on patient flow and administrative needs, ensuring smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient service.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Reception and Check-In:
    • Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
    • Verify patient information and update records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
    • Manage appointment schedules and coordinate patient flow efficiently.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist in various departments, including but not limited to internal medicine, cardiology, orthopedics, and pediatrics.
    • Handle phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
    • Process insurance verifications, collect copayments, and handle billing inquiries.
  • Documentation and Records Management:
    • Maintain accurate and organized patient records and appointment logs.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and clinic policies.
  • Customer Service:
    • Address patient concerns and complaints promptly and courteously.
    • Provide information and assistance regarding clinic services, procedures, and policies.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, nurses, and other administrative staff to deliver coordinated patient care.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role, preferably in an ambulatory care or multi-specialty clinic setting.
    • Cross-training or experience in multiple specialties is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in using EHR systems and basic computer applications.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Schedule:
