Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Nurse Manager (RN) for Forensics and ICU for full-time Day!
The position of Nurse Manager (RN) will assume the responsibility for the day-to-day clinical standards within the emergency department. Nurse managers oversee the daily operations of their units or facilities and ensure that the entire nursing department runs smoothly and effectively.
As a Nurse Manager (RN), you will:
- Assist with monitoring and evaluating patient care through direct observation, patient/family interviews, documentation/comparison to established standards
- Responsible for assisting with scheduling, managing staff absences, and maintaining staffing to an acceptable level.
- Perform daily staff rounds to assess work conditions, ensure staff lunches, and overall well-being of the unit.
- Effectively resolves conflict within realm of authority in a timely manner by using leadership skills; develops, implements and follows through on appropriate plan of action
- Identifies appropriate aspects of care to audit and promotes staff participation in quality improvement activities
- Assists in referring patient and/or significant others/family members to Social Services or to appropriate community
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Nursing required, Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred
- Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee
- Clinical experience within the Intensive Care Unit required
- At least 1 year of management experience required, within the ICU setting preferred
- BLS certification required at the time of hire
