Job Duties
  • Collaborate with Nursing Leadership, Nursing Education, and the Director to plan, design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive and continuous quality improvement (CQI) program.
  • Conduct standardized Root Cause Analyses for clinical adverse events and near miss events; develop action plans to reduce risk of recurrence; follows the progress of these action plans and evaluate effectiveness. 
  • Assists with data review, collection, and submission.
  • Identifies quality improvement opportunities and participates in quality improvement initiatives in assigned roles as delegated.
  • Performs accurate concurrent and retrospective review, as needed to support performance improvement activities.
  • Performs tracers and observations of clinical practices to assess compliance with established standards for The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Assist with policy review, revision, and recommendation. 
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement best practices.
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and drive evidence-based improvements.
  • Champion patient safety, quality outcomes, and professional development.
  • Serve as change agents, advocating for innovative approaches to care.
Education:
Masters Degree     Nursing                                      Preferred
Bachelor Degree   Nursing                                      Required
Certification & Licensures
Active TN nursing license or compact state.    Required
      BLS                                                             Required
      ACLS                                                           Preferred
Experience:
2 years of clinical experience 
ED or ICU             Preferred
Additional experience requirements:
2 years of proven experience in acute clinical practice, process improvement and/or nursing quality. Experience in integrated health systems in an academic medical center is preferred. Knowledge of performance improvement, change management, quality indicators, and data analysis, Joint Commission and CMS requirements for acute care operations, and provision of care nursing practice.
