Registered Nurse -CC - Medical Imaging

Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Medical Imaging as a Full-time RN.
The RN filling the Medical Imaging position will care for patients who undergo radiation therapy. Nurses will provide care to patients before, during and after and radiological procedures. This includes transferring to imaging facility, helping patients change into hospital gown, removing any metallic objects, explaining the procedure and comforting them during the procedure.
RN Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate patients under sedation
- Providing analgesic medication
- Starting and monitoring intravenous lines and catheters
- Collaborates with patients, families and health care professionals in providing and advocating for patient care
- Assisting in administering radiology treatments as well as imaging tests including x-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs and CT scans
- Injecting contrast dyes necessary for imaging tests
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma, or Baccalaureate Degree program in Nursing Preferred.
- Current Licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state. BLS required. ACLS preferred.
- One year of Critical Care experience is preferred
