Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive midwifery services encompassing antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological care.
- Conduct thorough assessments of pregnant individuals, formulate personalized care plans, and impart patient education.
- Execute prenatal visits, including physical examinations, laboratory tests, and ultrasound evaluations as deemed necessary.
- Lead and attend childbirths, ensuring a secure and comfortable birthing environment for mothers and infants.
- Offer guidance and encouragement during labor, overseeing pain management strategies and monitoring maternal and fetal health.
- Support Trial of Labor After Cesarean (TOLAC) and actively participate as a first assist during Cesarean sections to maintain consistent patient care.
- Administer postpartum evaluations and deliver postpartum care, including lactation assistance and family planning guidance.
- Conduct contraceptive procedures and offer family planning counseling.
- Utilize ultrasound for diagnostic and monitoring purposes as required.
- Perform colposcopy examinations as part of comprehensive gynecological care and provide appropriate follow-up care.
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other medical professionals to guarantee well-coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and updated medical records and documentation.
- Remain current with advancements in midwifery practices and evidence-based care.
Qualifications:
- Successful graduation from a nurse-midwifery program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
- Completion of accredited Certified Nurse-Midwife program, involving both study and clinical experience.
- Possession of 3-5 years of CNM experience, showcasing competence in delivering comprehensive midwifery care.
- National certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) bestowed by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
- CNM licensure in the State of Tennessee or eligibility to attain licensure.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
- Proficiency in Spanish is advantageous; bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Competency in contraceptive procedures, ultrasound diagnostics, first assist during surgical procedures, and colposcopy examinations.
