Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a Practice Manager as a full time job in Nashville, Tennessee.
Shift: Day Shift
The Practice Manager will provide direct management for the clinic[s]. Duties include supervision of personnel, staffing, implementation of new and continued existing policies and procedures, adherence to TJC, HIPAA, PCMH, PCSP, performance improvement, and compliance policies. Assist staff and physicians with all areas of the practice; assist with training of existing staff and new staff.
Practice Manager Roles & Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, and manages the operations and activities of one or more health clinics or health programs, ensuring a strategy for future grown in alignment with NGH’s vision, mission, and strategic plan; provides financial and management expertise to ensure that all patients receive high quality, affordable and efficient care; responsible for the day-to-day activities related to access, efficiency, productivity, service experience, scheduling, billing, provider communication and quality.
- Monitor revenues and expenditures; assists in maintaining budgetary control and meet budgeted productivity targets; develops data collection systems and prepares regular statistical and progress reports.
- Manages the flow of the clinic to ensure compliance, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Makes regular rounds to clinics to evaluate status of patient care, operation and environment of the clinics and staff needs; evaluates progress of assigned areas and plans, implements, and evaluates programs to meet current and anticipated needs.
- Manages revenue cycle components related to clinic operations to include charge reconciliation for providers and facility to meet budget targets; presents monthly revenue reports to key staff.
- Must be a working manager that is willing and able to assist and/or perform in roles as needed by the clinic practice.
- Develops schedule, staff’s hours, and patient flow for the center while executing corporate policies and procedures.
- Conducting day-to-day business of the practice
- Establish priorities and guidelines for maintaining efficient and expedient workflow for the clinic.
- Responsible for overseeing the clinic's plan for meeting productivity goals.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring strategies for encouraging staff to maintain a positive attitude and professional behavior. When necessary, facilitate resolution of problems and issues in a team-centered atmosphere.
- Facilitate site meetings, in-service meetings, attend and participate in management meetings, community partner meetings, and marketing activities as required.
- Monitor and ensure adequate stock of supplies, including all medicines and equipment.
- Supervision of all staff and maintaining appropriate working environment for physicians and employees.
- Familiar with applicable employment laws
- Planning and conducting regular staff meeting
- Works together with Finance and Operation departments to develop an annual business plan for the clinic.
- Tracks key performance indicators and reviews monthly.
- Performs annual performance and development review for team members.
- Motivates/leads staff and sets goals/priorities for staff and physician engagement.
- Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate difficult discussions regarding performance improvement plans, as well as staff and provider coaching and development.
- Ensures OSHA compliance
- Able to lead/participate in benchmarking and understanding PCMH/PCSP deliverables
- Interfaces with the support center and department leads to ensure center resources are being deployed effectively from finance, operations, marketing, and training.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Master’s Public Health or Master’s Healthcare Management or relevant degree strongly preferred with at least two years clinic experience or Bachelor’s degree and 4 years’ experience.
- Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience in a clinic setting, previous PCMH/PCSP and experience with electronic medical records a plus.
- Previous management experience in a clinic preferred.
