Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Cardiac Monitor Tech/Unit Secretary
This position is primarily responsible for accurate monitoring of telemetry/cardiac patients. The monitor technician must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize arrhythmia changes and communicate this information to charge/nurse/licensed care provider.
As a Monitor Tech, you will:
- Supervise computer station which monitor patient heart rhythm, record findings, maintain records, maintain equipment
- Responsible for observing and interpreting patients cardiac rhythms on telemetry monitors. Quickly and accurately identifying any irregular or abnormalities, notifying medical staff (nurses and doctors) promptly
- Maintain thorough documentation of rhythm patterns and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with health care team to troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to maintaining a secure and efficient monitoring environment
- organizes workload and assist as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Completion of approved Nursing Assistant program is preferred
- Must pass an arrhythmia test upon hiring
- BLS Required
- CPI required within first 30 days
- 1 year of cardiac monitor tech experience
