Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Nurse Educator for ICU on a Full-time basis.
The Nurse Educator has the responsibility for ensuring that all inpatient and ancillary nursing staff are trained and educated to deliver safe, efficient patient care; that quality patient care parameters are met; that nursing competencies are in compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory standards.
This position will also serve as an AHA instructor for the facility. Education focus to include assisting in AHA course schedule, Critical Care Education theory and skills, working with manager on continuing educational needs and unit specific competencies. (Not TNCC or ED.)

As a Nurse Educator, you will:
- Develop and implement educational programs tailored to the needs of nursing staff, including orientation, ongoing training, medical records training, and skills enhancement
- Conduct hands-on clinical instruction to clinical staff, emphasizing evidence-based practices and best clinical guidelines
- Assist in patient education by creating materials and providing information on disease management, treatment plans, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure patients and their families understand their healthcare options and responsibilities
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives by identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based solutions
- Assess and evaluate the clinical competencies of clinical staff through skills check-offs, written tests, and performance evaluation
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in nursing required or Masters degree preferred
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of TN or compact state
- 5 years of experience in ICU required
- BLS and ACLS Required
- BLS Instructor Certification preferred
