Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Psychiatric RN for Full-time Day! 
   
The Psychiatric Registered Nurse delivers care for patients across their life span, and through the use of the nursing process, assesses and documents the effects of care. As a nurse, you will work alongside the Psychiatrist and Psych Nurse Practitioner to evaluate, triage and treat a variety of psychiatric issues Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, medical and other team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
As a Psychiatric RN, you will: 
  • Provide inpatient consults, ER consults and psychiatric clinic responsibilities
  • Safely perform and correctly document nursing interventions consistent with hospital and clinic policies. Assists physicians/ practitioners as needed. Communicate pertinent information to patients/families regarding their care and/or procedures.
  • Evaluate and document the patient's response to interventions and procedures. Give accurate and timely reports to staff members when patient handoff is needed due to patient transfer, transfer to ED or admission.
  • Administer medications and monitor response. Assist with medication refills and patient requests. Use clinic equipment appropriately. Report concerns regarding patient status or test results to the physician.
  • Participate in providing information related to health prevention, health maintenance, and health restoration. Consider patient cultural/religious practices, learning needs, emotional barriers, physical and cognitive limitations, language and level of understanding, documents, education provided and patient response. Refer patients to available educational programs as available 
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:  
  • Must possess a current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee
  • Associates degree in Nursing, Bachelors degree preferred 
  • At least 1 year in mental health or psychiatric setting preferred 
  • Current BLS certification
