- Provides individualized treatment to patients and thorough assessment, planning, education, intervention, discharge planning and evaluation of outcomes.

- Develops, implements, and evaluates departmental recreational programs utilizing hospital and community facilities. This includes community re-entry and adaptive sports

- Conducts didactic lectures relating recovery process to activities and leisure time.

- Participates in annual competency assessment as well as customer evaluation, clinical staff dialogue, performance appraisals, and staff education.

- Documents application of the treatment process focusing on outcome criteria in accordance with hospital, departmental and regulatory agency requirements.

- Communicates with other members of the interdisciplinary health care team through case reviews to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.

- Identifies quality improvement needs and participates in implementing improvements.

- Conducts ongoing in-service and orientation training for hospital staff and the community.
|
- Maintains effective communications with patients, families, team members and managers as evidenced by mutual support, open communication, trust and support.

- Promotes good public relations with department personnel, physicians, other referral sources, patients, families and the community.
|
- Assumes responsibility for continuing education and professional development by attending required in-services and other means of continuing professional education (e.g., readings, classes, workshops).

- Keeps interdisciplinary team informed of activities, decisions and changes in patients’ treatment and/or progress.
|
- Adheres to all hospital and department policies.
|
- Monitors utilization of budgeted recreational resources.
