Associate Tennis Pro: Seasonal 5/1-9/17

Basic Job Function:

 

          Assists and contributes to all of the Tennis Program, including court maintenance, lessons and clinics, social mixers, and promotions; in the event the head tennis pro is not present at the tennis courts, to maximize usage and revenue of the tennis court facility, while maintaining a high quality of service. Provides direction to hourly Recreation staff working in tennis.

 

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Responsible for court maintenance, including sweeping, rolling, application of calcium chloride, and water.

  • Responsible for coverage of assigned shifts in the operations of Pro Shop: including court and lesson reservations, merchandise sales, partner matching, social mixers, and accounting procedures.

  • Assist with group lessons and clinics.

  • Responsible for positive guest relations and court atmosphere.

     

     

     

    Other Job Functions:

     

  • Attend social events that involve tennis related events.

  • Work closely with the Activities Manager and Supervisors to ensure appropriate coverage of the daily tennis operation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

     

     

     

    Abilities/Qualifications:

     

  • Knowledge of clay court/Har-Tru maintenance.

  • Proven teaching ability to all age groups.

  • Minimum of two years experience as an Assistant Professional in a resort or club setting.

  • At least 23 years of age.

  • Possess valid driver's license.

  • Eligible to legally work in the U.S.

  • Outgoing and friendly personality.

  • Able to work six days per week.

  • Able to handle adversity, change and emergency situations calmly and with a level head.

  • Able to walk, run, stoop, bend, and reach. Walk up and down stairs and moderate inclines.

  • Neat, clean, and well groomed.

  • Able to work weekends and holidays.

  • Able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Good natural or corrected vision.

  • Able to hear oral/auditory instructions, directions or warnings.

  • Able to speak clearly and in front of people.

  • Able to work in a manner that will not endanger self or others.
