HSE and Process Safety Superintendent

Position Purpose
The Responsible Care (RC) Superintendent is responsible for leading and continuously improving Responsible Care (RC) and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs at the Damietta Plant. The role partners closely with the RC Manager and Site Management Team to embed RC and PSM requirements into all site activities, strengthen safety culture, ensure regulatory and corporate compliance, and proactively manage risks to people, assets, the environment, and the community. The position plays a critical role in achieving zero injuries and incidents through strong leadership, governance, and workforce capability development.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of RC and PSM programs across operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractor activities.
- Ensure effective risk identification, assessment, and control using recognized methodologies (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA, Bowties, QRA).
- Drive emergency preparedness and response capability, including drills, ER team readiness, and coordination with external agencies.
- Lead incident investigations, ensuring high-quality root cause analysis and timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee RC and PSM competency development, training delivery, and accreditation processes across the site.
- Ensure contractor safety compliance through robust pre-qualification, supervision, audits, and field verification.
- Maintain RC and PSM documentation, procedures, KPI reporting, and alignment with Methanex corporate standards and local regulations.
- Lead site audits, support corporate audits, close findings, and implement best practices for continuous improvement.
- Promote strong safety leadership, employee engagement, and a learning culture through coaching and hazard identification initiatives.
