Physiology Technician I
Description
Mercy Health Position Summary: Under general supervision, but according to established procedures, performs a variety of physical tests such as Electrocardiograph, Holter monitor hook-ups, and others, in order to assist physicians in the determination and diagnosis of disease or dysfunction. Qualifications: Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of high school; college level training in physiology, anatomy or biology preferred;previous experience in any listed tests or medical assistant preferred, analytical ability to preliminarily review test results and determine the need for immediate attention by physician,perform calculations; interpersonal skills to interact with patients in sensitive, anxious situations explaining treatment purpose and equipment operation and thereby alleviating apprehension; physical ability for frequent periods of standing and walking and to support/position patients; visual acuity to read test results and view monitor; aural acuity to monitor heart beat, doppler sounds; ability to operate a computer.
