McClatchy is hiring a Director of Sales and Marketing for our digital marketing services platform, Tru Measure.

Preferred locations:  Denver CO, Chicago IL, Minneapolis MN, Raleigh NC,  Austin TX, and Dallas TX 

What we do:
We build software that makes our clients look good to their clients. We capture consumer engagement post-click activity from digital advertising and then report that activity in our reporting suite, making advertising performance completely transparent. To go a step farther, we also build, manage and optimize campaigns for advertisers, to make sure that they are focused on what they do best, and so are we.

A bit about the gig: We’re looking for a Director of Sales and Marketing to join our team. We are a remote company, so you can live/work where you want and we’ll get together a few times a year for team bonding and for strategic initiative pow-wows. We believe that we work to live, not the other way around. Your role will be to grow our ever-expanding base of Resellers. Our Resellers are some of the smartest, successful, most respected Publishers, Agencies and Technology companies in North America, Europe and Australia. Specifically, your job will be on the road, on the phone, on Skype, telling our story and giving demos to potential partners and Resellers.

In addition to leading up our sales efforts and working closely with the General Manager, this role includes B2B marketing responsibilities. Manage a small budget for SEM, Display, Social Media and event sponsorships. You will also assist with content development for social media, white papers and sales material. You’ll have access to contractors and other team members as needed for support and execution… it’s a team effort!

Tru Measure is a SaaS technology platform that ties together a complex web of disparate advertising products, allowing our Reseller partners to shape their own digital media services and offerings. We are the white-label solution, meaning our Resellers are the stars, and we are the hard working, technology-driven back office provider.

As a member of our team, you will be on the front lines working with our partners to:

  • Develop and execute an aggressive prospect pipeline consisting of digital agencies, product platform and technology companies with a need to capture advertising analytics as part of their own value-add services.
  • Drive new business growth by managing your pipeline through to closed contracts.
  • Manage all aspects of contract negotiations with oversight from the General Manager: pricing, services, SLAs
  • Cultivate industry relationships by representing Tru Measure at conferences, through social media and professional outreach, and thought leadership.
  • Expand and manage our CRM database of prospects.
  • Develop and effectively use outbound and follow on marketing tactics to grow your pipeline.
  • As a member of our team, we expect that you have some natural interest in technology, new products and researching what you don’t understand in addition to exceptional communication skills that will allow you to develop relationships with colleagues and clients remotely.
 Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work years/experience
  • At least five years in an agency or media environment in a sales capacity
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) and driven to grow.
  • At least 2-3 years of B2B marketing experience

  • Familiarity with digital advertising products and services
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs
  • Proficiency with financial modeling
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality of work
  • High level of comfort with a technology-driven, fast paced environment that requires ability to quickly synthesize and respond to multiple sources of data.
  • Good analytical, follow-up and problem solving skills
  • Highly analytical, focusing on doing the right thing for the client
  • Highly technically proficient, able to pick up new technology quickly
  • Organized, team player, able to work independently
  • Comfortable with Skype
