Job Summary:  Under general supervision, assists in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs.  Evaluates and documents salaried, hourly and management positions.  Assists in administration of incentive compensation and annual salary administration programs, reviews wage and salary changes for conformance to policy.  Audits job evaluations and personnel classifications.  Participates in compensation and benefit surveys.  Assists in updating the salary structure.  Reviews and evaluates salary and promotion requests.

Primary Tasks: 

  1. Collect and analyze compensation and benefit data, including job descriptions.
  2. Evaluate hourly, professional and management positions.
  3. Compile data for reporting and analysis in planning, developing and implementing compensation strategies.
  4. Match positions to survey benchmarks, report high, low and average rates paid, as well as overall pay and benefit policies and practices to third-party consultants.
  5. Audit current pay relative to established pay policies and practices, and brings anomalies to the attention of the director of compensation.
  6. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of compensation data within the HRIS database.
  7. Identify and evaluate new tools, techniques and software applications to gather, analyze and evaluate data to solve human resources problems.
  8. Develops, maintains, produces and distributes standard and customized reports and queries in response to requests for information.
  9. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, general business or human resources
  • In pursuit of professional certification such as CCP or CEBS
  • Ability to analyze complex data and prepare quantitative and qualitative reports
  • Comprehensive knowledge of database and management information systems
  • Advanced knowledge of office automation, including Microsoft Excel and Access
