We have design and manufacturing centers in the United States and Germany. Our customer support organization is headquartered in Fremont, California, with sales and support teams located in China, Germany, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and the United States.


About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities for our corporate headquarters in Fremont, CA. The successful candidate will develop, implement and oversee all of the plant and equipment maintenance and repair activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in the semiconductor manufacturing sector, be knowledgeable about California and Federal worker safety requirements, has developed new hire and ongoing worker training regimens for the maintenance/preventative maintenance of many types of equipment. This is a dynamic role that requires the ability to develop and track equipment maintenance regimens. Engineering activities are designed to enhance safety, product quality, protection of the environment and the performance of the operations. Provide facilities engineering support to global manufacturing and R&D sites including capital projects, operations, sustainability, and asset management.




        Oversees EH&S function, personnel and associated safety programs and environmental services to ensure regulatory compliance.

        Ensure the success of preventative maintenance as the multi-discipline, team-based approach to proactively maintain/ improve the reliability and performance of the company's assets to deliver continuous improvement in the value the assets deliver to the business.

        Be proactive in seeking additional resources or preparing training if a gap exists.

        Diagnose operational issues and identifies appropriate plans to streamline operations, increase equipment uptime and reduce manufacturing cost and unnecessary repair costs.

        Ensures a disciplined and consistent process for the periodic maintenance/preventative maintenance of all equipment and facilities.

        An absolute intolerance for unsafe situations and actions.

        Only implementing significant changes after understanding their impact on product safety/quality, people safety and the environment.

        Experience with Process Improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Organizational Excellence, Practical Process Improvement, etc.)

        The desire to teach and mentor.

        Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills

        Must possess computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc.

        Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate and influence personnel at all levels of the organization.

        Processing equipment efficiency, technical downtime, changeover and maintenance cost.

        Monitors and updates space and design standards and communicates with vendors for compliance.

        Manages staff performing space planning function including the coordination of internal moves, relocations, and decommissioning of vacated offices.

        Responsible for the planning, procurement and use of equipment needed to ensure timely and efficient response to general and building services requests.




        BS Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related studies (Mechanical, Materials Science, Chemical, Electrical or other). Highly qualified candidates with significant work experience will be considered that do not have a four-year degree.

        Highly motivated, self-starter with 10+ years related experience.

        Experience in the design, implementation and management of scheduled and ad-hoc semiconductor equipment servicing, refurbishment and repair.

        Manage and lead a team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance and addressing any disciplinary issues.

        Ability to multitask and prioritize a changing workload in a very fast paced environment.

        Preferably project management skills in the upgrade of existing equipment and in the expansion, planning, oversight and installation of new lines.

        Knowledge of accepted training and development practices.

Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:

  •   Successful completion of required Safety training.
  •   Remain informed about safety and health regulations affecting the      operations of supervision.
  •   Ensure each employee is able to safely complete each task to which he/she is assigned.
  •   Investigate accidents and incidents that have occurred; identify the corrective action necessary to prevent a similar accident from occurring.
  •   Ensure equipment and machines are maintained in safe operating condition.
  •   Report to the Safety Officer any unsafe or unhealthy condition which cannot be corrected.
  •   Follow all safety and health regulations and work practices, including personal protective equipment where applicable.
