Customer Service - Logistics, Field Service, Tech Support Fremont, California


Plans and controls the spare parts inventory within customer service. Systems and processes provide the tools that enable the planning, procuring, stocking and distribution of inventory necessary to support Mattson Technology systems under warranty and to support after sale sales. Logistics ability to plan and evaluate inventory levels has a substantial impact on the inventory dollars spent by the company. Having the right parts in place is required for Mattson Technology customers to keep their systems up and running.


  • Evaluates customer support and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met; exercises own judgment within only generally defined practices and procedures in order to prioritize.
  • Develops and implements control systems to move inventory in a timely and cost effective
  • manner.
  • Negotiates with production and OEM vendors for delivery of forecast parts.
  • Maintains spare parts lists and analyzes and effects disposition of surplus, scrap, and obsolete inventory for assigned products.
  • Expedites transactions and movement of material.
  • Resolves inventory discrepancies.
  • May prepare reports as requested by management.
Skills Required:
  • 3 - 5 years experience in material planning and inventory control
  • BS degree or equivalent experience in material planning and inventory control
  • Works on problems of diverse scope 
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists 
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills required
