What we offer

As a collaborative and detail-oriented financial business partner, the Senior Financial Analyst, Consolidations and Legal Entity Reporting will take ownership over the consolidations and legal entity reporting processes across Mattamy Asset Management (MAM) and its subsidiaries.

 

The Senior Financial Analyst is a hands-on role involving collaboration with multiple partners and stakeholders including FP&A, Treasury and Tax, and JV reporting teams and will appeal to a strong system-oriented, and technical accounting professional.  The position is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional that excels in business process and controls development, as well as technical and complex accounting within dynamic and evolving environments.

 

The successful candidate may be eligible to qualify for Mattamy’s CPA training program, which is accredited to meet the practical work experience requirements for achieving your CPA designation.

What you’ll do

  • Perform monthly and quarterly consolidations for Mattamy Group Corporation (MGC) using both ASPE and internal accounting methods for our investments in Joint Ventures, including all financial and non-financial data points
  • Prepare all legal entity financial statements for MGC and MAM entities, and develop processes to deliver all legal entity statements to tax/treasury to support tax compliance and filing processes
  • Support FP&A and Treasury by compiling all data sets required to present financial results in MD&A, bondholder presentations, and debt compliance reporting
  • Perform detailed reconciliations of equity accounts and investment balances, CTA, interest, and related party balances to ensure accuracy of consolidated and legal entity statements
  • Working with the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, support the implementation of Onestream for all consolidated, legal and JV reporting functions including:
    • Data reconciliation, and implementation of workflow and control processes for consolidation at the MGC level, including system-based reconciliations, exception reports, and validation rules to ensure the completeness and accuracy of consolidated financial statements;
    • Implementing legal entity reporting by transitioning all legal entity reporting from existing tools into Onestream, including reconciling historical data and developing system-based processes and controls to improve quality of data available to Tax and JV reporting teams;
    • Implementing and performing high level reconciliations of all entity structures, data sets, and integrated systems (PBCS, JDE) to ensure ongoing and overall integrity of financial data.

What you bring

  • University Degree, with a specialization in Finance or Accounting is required
  • CPA or CA designation considered an asset
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in Finance/Accounting/Consolidations functions
  • Working knowledge of ASPE
  • Experience with:
    • Consolidations including joint venture, investment, and subsidiary accounting
    • System Implementation or administrator-role of consolidation tool, preferably HFM or Onestream
    • Legal entity structures with multiple levels of subsidiaries and ownership interests
  • Deadline-oriented with strong learning agility and ability to manage competing demands
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Bonus points

  • Audit experience from a medium or large firm
  • Systems Implementations and project management
  • Experience with JD Edwards or a comparable cross-industry ERP system
