Martin Marietta is seeking a qualified Electrician who will install, maintain, and repair electrical/electronic systems, components and apparatus for machinery and equipment in an industrial setting.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing existing electrical systems- including but not limited to PLCs, variable frequency drives, soft starts, and motor controls.
  • Replace or repair faulty components of the electrical systems such as motors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, and sensors.
  • Assist with planning and layout of new electrical installations along with retrofitting and upgrading existing systems.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to ensure minimum costs and maximum availability.
  • Identify opportunities, develop strategies, and execute the plans for electrical improvement throughout the operation.
  • Heavy involvement in completion of electrical scopes for capital expenditures.
  • Perform PLC programming to troubleshoot process control issues for automated machinery.
  • Perform baseline operational repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Acknowledge local, state, and federal agency regulations to ensure operational compliance.
  • Work cross-functionally with Safety, Environmental, CCM, and other related departments.
  • Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Lehigh Hanson corporate guidelines, conducting training, and monitoring compliance.
  • In partnership with local Safety and Environmental staff, continue to develop, promote, and maintain high levels of performance throughout the operation to ensure compliance.


This position will work at various locations in Sunol and Clayton, CA 
 
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Must possess a current and valid CA Journeyman Electrician Certification.
  • 5+ years of industrial electrical experience required.
  • Aggregate operational experience is an asset.
  • Ability to read blue prints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • System knowledge of HMI and PLC control systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of motor control systems and schematics.
  • Experience using basic hand tools, electrical meters/testers, and power tools.
  • Experience in leading aspects of capital expenditures. Ability to complete proposals, budgets, timelines, and project scopes, etc.
  • Open to cross training- specifically geared towards plant R&M.
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations, employment laws and environmental regulations as they apply within mining and processing operations, previous California experience is an asset.
  • Physical Requirements:  sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment.

Salary Posting:

We are excited to share the base range for this position is $52.00-$65.00, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity. In addition to our base compensation, we also offer a competitive benefits package for full time employees (more information on benefits listed below).
