Martin Marietta seeks an intern for our East Division Accounting team. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about learning new skills and who possess a high drive to success and excellence. The team is open to a flexible work schedule to accommodate the right candidate’s availability. This role is not remote and candidate will be expected to come into the office on their scheduled work days.
 
Skills prerequisites:
  • Accounting or Finance major (minimum 3.25 GPA)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact regularly with divisional and various corporate teams
  • Analytical and inquisitive personality
  • Growth mindset with the ability to multitask and be highly effective in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, being comfortable with using new technology
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
What you can expect to gain in this role:
  • Gain insight into the field operations and month-end close process
  • Participate in compiling information and schedules in the quarterly reporting process
  • Prepare various journal entries, account reconciliations and understanding the importance of timely review and completion
  • Obtain a general understanding of the overall East Division Accounting function and its impact/importance to the Finance team and other core business operations throughout the Division
  • Assisting with various ad hoc and external audit requests
  • Build familiarity with automation and process improvement
  • Expand your experience with using various data extraction tools
