Reporting to the Director, Engineering, the Engineering Intern will learn the functions and processes of Martin Marietta’s Enterprise Engineering Services. Engineering Services oversees  initial design and engineering, budgeting, procurement, construction management, and commissioning of Operations projects across the company.   Additional activities include operational excellence audits, data collection and analysis, plant flow modeling, safety audits, and engineering support for exiting locations.
Intern Responsibilities: 
  • Must be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated.
  • Will take an active role in the company’s safety initiatives.
  • Must be a self-motivated, strong work ethic individual that is willing to work with minimal supervision.
  • Assist engineers and project managers with daily tasks including budgeting, procurement, CAD drawings, reports, and other typical tasks
  • Gain knowledge of software including AutoCAD, JDE, and AggFlow,
Qualifications and skills:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an office or field environment where sitting, standing, kneeling, or bending for long periods of time may be required.
  • Ability to wear PPE while in the field (Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, Hardhats, Earplugs, High-Viz Vest or Shirts, other as required)
  • Ability to use Microsoft products (Word, Excel)
