LABORER
Job Summary 
The Mine Laborer supports daily mining operations by performing general labor tasks in and around the mine site. This position is responsible for maintaining safe work areas, assisting equipment operators and trades, and ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and operational standards. The Mine Laborer plays a critical role in supporting production while maintaining a strong safety-first mindset.
Job Duties 
  • Perform general labor duties including shoveling, sweeping, lifting, carrying, and material handling.
  • Clean and maintain mine site as directed by Manager, Supervisor, Lead
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Install, maintain, and remove berms, signage, barricades, and other safety controls.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as greasing, fueling, washing equipment, and changing filters (as trained and authorized).
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections of tools and assigned equipment.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions, near misses, and equipment issues.
  • Follow all Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations, company policies, and site-specific procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, tailgate talks, and required training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support mine operations.


Minimum Education Details 

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience Required

 1+ year related experience preferred

Qualifications 

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work shifts, day shift, night shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Comply with all MSHA and company safety rules.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Stop work and report hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Actively participate in the company’s safety culture and hazard reporting programs.

Physical Requirements 

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (occasionally more with assistance).
  • Stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, and work on uneven surfaces for extended periods.
  • Work in environments with dust, noise, vibration, extreme temperatures, and at heights.
