Plant Operator (Day Shift)
Description
- Operate/program the crushing and screening equipment for the quarry.
- Visually observe and monitor gauges and all equipment while in operation to maintain the proper flow of material on belts, crushers, and screens
- Responsible for housekeeping around the plant
- Maintain strong communications with all other plant employees to ensure efficient and safe workflow from quarry to crusher.
- Identify appropriate material to produce quality aggregate material per job specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on conveyor belts and crushing equipment including splicing, replacing idlers, pulleys, drive belts, and bearings, changing screens, cleaning, and lubrication.
- Shut down equipment as required in the event of an emergency, blockages, or end of shift; coordinate/assist in required repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures; MSHA Part 48 training is a plus.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years prior experience in the aggregate industry preferred; experience in aggregate plant operation and maintenance a plus

Salary Posting:
We are excited to share the base range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
