Job Summary:
The Senior Property Tax Analyst will support the property tax compliance and strategy for Martin Marietta’s portfolio of properties. This role involves reviewing property tax assessments, preparing and negotiating property tax appeals, and managing property tax audits. The analyst will work closely with internal teams and external consultants to ensure accurate and timely property tax payments and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with local, and state property tax regulations and filing deadlines.
- Review property tax assessments and prepare appeals for assigned properties. Negotiate value reductions with county appraisers and attend review board hearings as needed.
- Manage property tax audits and coordinate with auditors to resolve issues.
- Prepare detailed reports and analyses on property tax liabilities and savings opportunities.
- Maintain property tax forecasts and monthly accruals.
- Work with internal departments and external consultants to optimize property tax strategies.
- 10-20% travel required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 5 + years of experience in property tax analysis or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in JDE, PTMS property tax software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
- CPA or CMI certification is a plus.
