Equipment Operator
Description
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Work in all areas of the plant as needed
- Observe all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and company regulations
- Report unsafe conditions
- Report accidents or incidents immediately
- Utilize equipment in a manner to maximize productivity and minimize wear and down time
- Perform a daily pre and post shift Inspection for equipment and work place and fill out inspection form
- Recognize contaminated material and report unusual conditions to supervisor
- Operate equipment to feed material into the plant
- Fuel and lube equipment as needed
- Some shoveling and manual labor required occasionally
- Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two to four years’ experience operating similar equipment
- Ability to work overtime as needed, 6 - day work weeks are typical
- Frequently lift 10 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb up and down ladders
- Have some mechanical knowledge
- Need to be reliable on attendance and punctual
- Ability to communicate with other employees and share responsibilities
- Knowledge of environmental care and spill containment procedures
- Energetic, motivated and action oriented

Salary Posting:
We are excited to share the base range for this position is $21.60-$35.25, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity. In addition to our base compensation, we also offer a competitive benefits package for full time employees (more information on benefits listed below).
