Professional Engineer/ Technical Lead

Magnolia River is seeking a Professional Engineer/Technical Lead to work in our Tampa, Florida office!
Primary Function: The Technical Lead must have a deep understanding of one or more of the functional areas (modeling, HDD design, M&R design, linear transmission/distribution, MAOP, permitting, etc.) regarding the planning, design, procurement, and construction of natural gas pipeline facilities or other utility/system improvement projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide technical management for all phases of a project including, but not limited to, scope development, proposal reviews, hours estimates, design, engineering specifications, materials procurement, route selection, permitting,construction/constructability assessment, and calculations.
- Conduct site visits and sub-contractor plan reviews, attending technical/progress review meetings as required.
- Coordinate with project managers and project staff to conduct QA/QC reviews and ensure consistency/adherence to client/MRS/industry standards in execution of project management activities. Under the guidance of the Engineering Manager and HR, provide leadership, training, development, annual appraisal, and supervision of divisional employees.
- Conduct economic and technical feasibility assessments, investigating various alternatives, and making recommendations on course of action.
- Stay informed of industry issues and technical trends.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to convey technical concepts in a clear and concise manner with project team members.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with project team, management, staff, and clients/stakeholders.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to research, understand, interpret, and seek regulatory agency guidance for industry appropriate laws, rules,regulations, and similar legal requirements.
- Familiarity with CAD, GIS software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, etc.), and relative concepts.
- Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel and work extended hours for project assignments and meetings.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university is required; general civil design experience and project management experience; or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
- Seasoned experience in one or more of the following: modeling, HDD design, M&R design, linear transmission/distribution with up to 25% field work, MAOP, and permitting.
- An Alabama Professional Engineer license is required.
- Natural gas industry experience is preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Duties are performed in an office environment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
- Consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
