Accounting Manager - Hybrid or Remote

Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join the YourBooks Outsourced Accounting Team. You will work directly with our clients to provide customized accounting services to support them as they manage and grow their business or organization.

 

In this role you will supervise staff and manage work on assigned client files via remote cloud applications. This role will report to the YourBooks Director. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting, financial and operational services for our clients. Crucial to this role is the ability to collaboratively identify problem areas early, lead engagements, and proactively grow client relationships with the outsourced accounting team.

 

Job Description

  • Act as the main point of contact for the designated clients you service.
  • Take on the role of consultant and advisor to your clients on best practices for accounting related engagements.
  • Provide project management expertise by managing multiple clients, work, and deadlines.
  • Supervise YourBooks staff in the completion of client engagements
  • Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
  • Complete high-risk account reconciliations and review complex account reconciliations.
  • Supervise all facets of monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting and closing process.
  • Review financial and statistical reports, analyzing unusual items on financial reports and discussing results with clients.
  • Able to prepare and/or review tax returns, prepare and review payroll tax, and payroll reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Lead projects for audit, due diligence, system selection, and other consulting projects.
  • Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
  • Maintain knowledge of the client’s organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Assist in business development process including meetings with prospective clients
  • Assist in hiring and training of departmental staff

 

Education/Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Five years of experience as a senior accountant, assistant controller, or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience directly supervising accounting staff
  • General knowledge of accounting software required. QuickBooks required.
  • People management experience with the ability to guide, train, coach, motivate and direct a team to achieve desired end results.
  • Prior project management and client management experience (preferred).
  • Previous public accounting experience (preferred).
  • CPA certification (preferred).
