Senior Scientist / Office Manager - Midland

The Senior Scientist / Office Manager will primarily be responsible for supporting oil and gas clientele in the field of environmental consulting. Responsibilities will include personnel and logistics management; technical oversight of site assessment, remediation, and compliance projects; and business planning directed at expansion of a regional office.

Your Day-to-Day Job Duties:

  • Approximately 50% of the work will consist of managing and completing projects such as spill response, release delineation and characterization, soil or groundwater monitoring, SPCC, and air quality. Some fieldwork will be expected, especially during the office start-up phase.
  • The other 50% will include managing day-to-day operations of a regional office, including personnel management, administrative tasks, logistics, scheduling, and business development.
  • Attend client and peer group meetings.
  • Serve as author on scientific and regulatory reports.
  • Communicate with regulatory authorities on behalf of clients.
  • Close new business deals; develop and negotiate contracts; and produce results for clients
  • Overnight travel may be necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (MS/MBA a plus).
  • Minimum of 12 years of proven experience in environmental consulting.
  • Minimum of 12 years of project management and people management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficient with Internet and MS Office Suite.
  • Technical background and experience to conduct environmental projects, including soil, groundwater, and air remediation.
  • Strong and extensive network within the local client community.
  • Understanding of industry trends, key players, terminology and economics of the Permian Basin.
  • Ability to publicly represent LTE with internal and external clients and at events and seminars.
  • Clear understanding of local, state, and federal regulatory jurisdictions.
