POSITION PURPOSE  

The Counter Sales position supports the HVAC Equipment part sales, increasing parts sales and providing excellent customer service in-person and over the phone. This position will fulfill parts orders and assist in the overall operation of the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:  

• Increases the sales of equipment and temperature control parts, both through phone support and direct customer contact and support.
• Receives and efficiently handles all customer parts calls for all site business units and product lines.
• Handles replacement of equipment parts under warranty.
• Assists Warehouse Supervisor and Accounting with resolving customer collection problems and work to ensure that LONG is fairly compensated for all work including that performed outside contractual obligations.
• Assembly of occasional special order valves and general support for entire company on parts issues and warehouse needs.
• Assists in processing inventory orders and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Assists in the operations of a clean, orderly, functional warehouse and exterior grounds.
• Maintains a high level of performance and increases technical knowledge, competencies and awareness relevant to all business unit activities to include equipment parts, control parts, general HVAC and control systems.
• Abides by all LONG and OSHA safety regulations at all times and drives defensively, obeying all traffic laws including LONG safe driver policy (avoids all confrontational driving situations).
• Adheres to job site specific safety guidelines, wears necessary personal protective equipment, and safely operates all power tools, hand tools, and instruments necessary for job completion.
• Ensures all inventory accounts receivable are current in the accounting system.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to do so. • 1 year trade school and 3 years’ related work experience OR 5 years related work experience
• Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and computer skills
• Excellent customer service and sales skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  

• HVAC/warehouse experience
• Certified operation of a Forklift
