Position Summary

Provide support to ensure the stable operation of customer equipment (Hardware and Software). This includes installing, repairing, and maintaining all supported products, technology, and applications. This role will interface directly with customers, other field service staff, sales staff, and various levels of management in an effort to resolve all install, configuration, and operational issues. Travel to customer sites, remote offices and other various locations will be required.   This position is collectively bargained. 

Pay Range: $28 - $ 48 per hour depending on current local union rates.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain both IP and analog based security systems including access control, video management, intrusion detection, IP intercom, and mass communication systems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain IP based networks, communication systems, and other various infrastructures.
  • Provides information related to project as built documentation to be developed into “As built” drawings.
  • Provide technical support for customers, co-workers, and other LONG business units.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and document low voltage systems.
  • Attends construction meetings as required for individual projects.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
  • Obtain and retain knowledge of current technologies in order to provide proficient and innovative expertise to our customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Attend and perform training functions as necessary.
  • Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-year technical degree or 2 years related experience with IP based networking or electronic security systems required
  • Places high value on quality of workmanship, attention to detail and safe work practices for self and others
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Washington Low Voltage License
  • Valid Driver’s License

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of IP based and electronic security systems.
  • Knowledge of IP based and electronic communication systems.
  • Knowledge of basic electricity such as AC/DC theory, ohms law, ability to read and understand a digital volt/ohm meter.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform through self-direction.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an efficient & timely manner.
  • Ability to take direction & carry out specific instructions.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to climb multi-level stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to provide own hand tools. Specialty tools will be provided.

Working Conditions

Environment:

  • Alcohol and Drug-free.
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions such as sun, rain, wind, and snow.
  • Periodic In-state travel required.

Physical Requirements

  • Routine sitting, lifting, bending, and kneeling.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
